These are my designs for currency redesign. I decided to include a woman, Emily Dickinson, since there weren’t any women on the current US Currency. I also wanted Dickinson to be on the highest bill ($20). I hand drew Emily Dickinson, Walt Whitman (spent too much time on Whitman), and William Shakespeare for this project. Then, I took the sketch into Illustrator and did a vector drawing of it using my Wacom Tablet. I used the same layout design for a simplistic approach to the overall design. Along with the poets are their buildings in their remembrance. Since Literature isn’t talked about a lot in Fine & Digital Arts, I wanted to use it as a source for this design. I used found photography images from the web (portraits & buildings) and included them into this design.
