Hand drawn by myself: Self portrait of Emily Dickinson, typography/lettering, and poem is by Emily Dickinson. In printmaking you have to draw things backwards so it can print forward. The medium used was an aluminum plate in which I transferred the drawing onto.
I decided to use literature for this print due to many books and poems were written and printed originally using the printmaking method. Everything written publication, during a certain time period, had to be written backwards in order for the words to be printed and read from left to right. This is an ode to studies I love: Linguistics, Literature, and Art (Typography, Lettering, Illustration, and Graphic Design (original and new).
